Mount Dora is a city in the county of Lake, situated between Lake Dora, Gertrude, and Beauclair. It is peacefully set only 25 miles northwest of Orlando, 38 miles from Disney, 58 miles from Daytona Beach, and 60 miles from the Gulf of Mexico. It is primarily located on a high bluff overlooking Lake Dora, and is host to many major annual events including the Mount Dora Arts Festival, an antique boat show, antique car show, sailing regatta, golf tournament, bicycle festival, crafts fair and the annual Christmas lighting festival. The Lakeside Inn, one of Mount Dora’s most iconic locations, has been host to many presidential visitors – Calvin Coolidge, Thomas Edison, Henry Ford and President Dwight D. Eisenhower.
The city proper has a total area of 5.8 square miles and the current population is estimated to be just over 10,000.
