Windermere is a city in Orange County, Florida, located about 12 miles west-south-west of Orlando. It is situated between the Chain of Lakes(more specifically, Lake Butler, Lake Down, and Lake Bessie.) As of the 2010 census, the population is estimated to be almost 3,000. The city proper has a total area of 1.1 square miles. First established in 1889 and chartered in 1925, Windermere maintains a Town Manager/City Council form of government. Windermere has been residence for many famous residents including Shaquille O’Neal and Tiger Woods.
